ABOUT SRI SIDDHARTHA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
Sri Siddhartha College of Education was started in the year 1972 under the auspices of Sri Siddhartha Education Society (R) by its Founder Secretary 'Shikshana Bheeshma' Dr. H.M. Gangadharaiah (1915-1995). Realizing the imperative need to extend the benefit of 'Teacher Education' to the weaker sections of the society and to provide professional education for the prospective teachers to work especially in rural areas, the college was established. The college is housed in a spacious palatious building in a campus spreading about 8 acres of land at Saraswatipura in the heart of Tumkur City which is a picturesque town, 70 kms from Bengaluru on the multilane National High way.
Tumkur is well connected by road and railway and is just an hour drive from Bengaluru. Since its inception the college is securing almost cent percent results in B.Ed examinations with many distinctions and ranks. The college is a Grant-in-Aid institution by Government of Karnataka. Permanently affiliated to Tumkur University, and recognized by NCTE, New Delhi. We are happy to state that the college has been accredited by NAAC with 'B' Grade and is included under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act 1956.
The College has achieved Fantabulous in the last 5 decades of its existence and now it has emerged as a full fledged institution, occupying an honored place among the colleges of education in the State of Karnataka. The college has secured ranks (including I rank) year after year due to the strenuous efforts of dedicated teachers. Through this it is attracting students not only from different parts of Karnataka, but also from the states of Kerala, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Delhi.
This Institution has a fine infrastructure and well equipped with all instructional facilities including computer, library and lab facilities. The Institution has qualified and experienced staff members. The candidates appearing for the final examination completing the course with good percentage, qualifying with 95% to 100% results.
